As part of the first anniversary celebration of the Apex Body of Women in the Poultry Value Chain (WIPVAC-Apex), the association launched three (3) additional Chapters and inaugurated their Regional Executives. They were;
- Launching of Brong Ahafo Chapter on 17th May 2018 at the South Ridge Hotel, Sunyani
- Launching of Greater Accra Chapter on 25th May 2018 at the Alexis Hotel, Afienya
- Launching of the Volta Regional Chapter on 31st May, 2018 at the Forecourt of the Ho Municipal Market.
As part of the celebration, the Association embarked on various health sensitization programs in three (3) schools where they promoted Egg consumption and demystified some myths about eating eggs. Apart from educating the students, the Association distributed boiled eggs to the students in the schools visited. The schools visited were the Foster Home School in Fafraha, Universal MA Primary School in Ho and the Roman Catholic School in Dormaa Ahenkro.
A special donation of crates of eggs was made to the Christ Faith Foster Home at Fafraha and the Sunyani Government Hospital by the Association.
The Special Broiler project by ESSAR Agro-West Africa Limited in collaboration with WIPVaC-APEX was also launched during this maiden anniversarycelebration .
The first anniversary celebration of the Association was sponsored by AMPLIFIES and supported by Ghana Poultry Project (GPP), AgriSolve, Veterinary Services Directorate, , Animal Production Headquarters, Accra, Municipal and Regional Departments of Agriculture, USAID FinGap, Chamber of Agribusiness, Women in Agriculture Development (WIAD) among others.
